Production dates for the world premiere of this show are anticipated in 2020 2021 2022 2023 in Buffalo, New York. (It got pushed back by that darn pandemic.)
This will be a “self-produced” production with no production company, corporate sponsor, or any kind of professional help. (By the time it’s done, some of us may need professional help but that’s another story.)
It’s a tight, fast-moving show rather than a lavish Broadway spectacle. Having a band on stage throughout requires some creative staging and lighting. There’s also some interesting integrated video in the show.
But this is a musical, after all, and the music is where “This Dreamer” really shines with an original score by the legendary (in their own minds) local band Brainium. The music will all be brought to life live on stage by wildly talented, hard-working actors who don’t just sing the music, they also play it.
The show has two acts with a 15-minute intermission and runs about two hours.
